While I’ll continue to explore middle grade fantasy this month, I’ll also make time to explore kidlit that honors and celebrates Hispanic Heritage.

Take some time to explore the Latinx KidLit Book Festival, a virtual book festival that will launch on September 1st. Their YouTube channel includes materials from past years and professional development events from this year’s festival. If you’re looking to get a head start on preparing to celebrate Hispanic Heritage, check out the book previews from past years to get some ideas for books or authors to consider incorporating into your lessons. In addition, the festival website includes educator guides to experience the festival in your classroom, as well as a database of books organized by age group.
