by Amanda Diekman

Format: ebook

Primary Doorways: Plot, Character

Genre: Memoir/Self-Help

Read for: An eye opening look on how household communication impacts all members

Amanda Diekman’s memoir/self-help book Low-Demand Parenting will challenge your notions of what a demand is, the load we ask of our children, and how much we can let go. Diekman is up front that her journey was driven by her perspective of being a neurodivergent parent, raising neurodivergent kids, but argues that low-demand techniques will work in all sorts of families. She lays out the basis of low-demand parenting and non-prescriptive tips on its implementation in an easy to understand, memorable fashion. Although this book is primarily about parenting , I recommend this book for any person looking to reset their rocky relationship with anyone.
